Firstly the whole process is supportive, your decisions and choices are carefully discussed, sometimes what you are asking for is not suitable for you and if that is the case they tell you and explain why. There is nothing about Mayclinik that screams they do this for the money and will operate on you at any cost, actually it’s quite the reverse. They explain everything fully, what is and what is not achievable so that you do not have unrealistic expectations. They also discuss the unpleasant side.. the things you do really need to know! How restrictive you need to be, how uncomfortable it will be and how much work you also have to put in to get the results you are looking for. What they do promise you and excel in is brilliant patient care, expert doctors and nurses of the highest standards. You can have the best doctors in the world, but if your nurses and aftercare are not as talented you have nothing. The nursing staff at Mayclinik are angels. They all care, they all have good hearts and go the additional mile to ensure you are comfortable and all of your questions asked. No question is to silly, no request overlooked. You feel like you have instant 1-2-1 care. All staff from drivers to dietitians take the pressure and fear out of being away from home and treat you with respect and genuine care, For me this was not a one time thing, I had lots of aftercare and attention in London after I arrived home, all tailored to suit me. Again the staff excelled in the cleanliness, medical support and care. Do ask questions, don’t be unrealistic and listen to what they advise. I cannot thank them enough for literally changing my life, my confidence has grown and I feel I have made some genuine friends for life as everyone has supported and understood my journey. It is simply excellent professional care and experience matched with incredible staff. That’s the difference and that’s what makes Mayclinik the trusted and preferred choice for your medical/surgical needs. Obviously I cannot tell you to choose them, but if you do it’s the best decision you will make on your surgery journey.
